銘傳大學 | 亞洲第一所美國認證大學

銘傳大學，是一所由家族興辦的私立大學，校址位於臺北市士林區、桃園市龜山區及金門縣等地，1957年由包德明伉儷創辦，現任校長為沈佩蒂博士。「銘傳」校址，原先規劃設立於淡水，但因為得知先賢劉銘傳巡撫的嫡孫女劉德齡在臺北市圓山開設一所「銘傳育幼院」，迫於種種原因導致該校無法繼續維持，寄望有人能伸出援手協助解決困境。創辦人包德明乃接手「銘傳育幼院」，將校舍加以改建，仍沿用銘傳作為校名。除紀念先賢劉銘傳巡撫於清末治理臺灣，奠定現代化基礎，以表達對先賢崇敬之意外；更期望以其為典範，激發師生的壯志雄心、見賢思齊。
